The Puppy
He tore apart my cushions
And scattered the stuffing
All over the floor.
He dug up my rosebush
And left a big hole
In the middle of the yard.
But when I came home
And saw the mess he'd made,
I couldn't help but laugh.
Because despite the trouble
That he always causes,
I love my dog.
***
Like a rose in the middle of a heist,
You caught my eye
And my heart skipped a beat.
I knew I had to have you,
So I took you away with me.
***
My Nephew
Boogers are icky,
They're not very pretty.
I can't help but eat them,
Because they taste so good,
My favorite dessert!
***
In a land where the fairies dwell
I fell in love with one so well
She had skin as white as snow
And a voice as soft as a doe
I followed her to a rose
That grew in an enchanted place
And when I plucked the flower
She vanished without a trace
***
When love and temptation meet
It's like a storm that brews
The air around turns to heat
And passion starts to seethe
Overwhelming and alluring
The two of us are pulled
Into a dance that is sure to end
In disaster or delight
One last twirl and then we're done
We part ways with a smile
Both of us knowing full well
It's not the end
***
I think I'm really great
I think I always right
I think I'm the best
You don't agree with me?
You're wrong!
I'm always right!
***
A rose is red
My snack is, too
I'm glad that I
Can have them both
My rose is fresh
My snack, as well
I'll take a bite
And then, a smell
I love my rose
I like my snack
I'll enjoy them both
Alone, in my room
***
In the woods I pitch my tent
Away from the city's rent
I light a fire in the night
For warmth, and also for the light
I cook my food on the flames
And tell stories of great games
In the morning I take down my tent
And pack up all my things
I take one last look at the woods
And then I start to leave
I'll come back another time
When the woods are all in line
***
Uh-oh,
I'm in love!
Oh, no!
What will
I do?
Oooh,
I'm in love!
What will
I do?
I'm in
love!
***
I'm sick of the city
and all of its noise
I'm going to a farm
to get away from boys
I'm looking forward to the peace
that I know I will find
I'll leave my phone
way, way behind
